We work with exceptional carpenters, masons, tile installers, plumbers, electricians, and painters. We prefer to work with smaller, low-overhead subcontractors so that your home hets the attention it deserves, without incurring the additional costs of large, high-overhead organizations. We have a long work history with only the top tradesman in the area.
We only build custom homes, never any spec homes. We are low volume, and instead focus on exceptional, fully customized luxury homes with a select group of clients.
Your pre-construction budget looks like this. Before we start you will receive a comprehensive budget that is fully detailed, cost code by cost code, based on actual bids by our subcontractors and suppliers. We are entirely transparent and open book with all costs related to your build.
We do not charge a fee for changes. Changing your mind is part of any high-caliber home, and we believe we should have fun with it.
We don't maintain an expensive office, a fleet of vehicles, or have high-overhead staff and middle management. We focus our resources on your build and those that are directly responsible for the successful completion of your home.
Your project is kept active and efficient at all times through constantly updated, formal subcontractor scheduling. Through our web-based client portal you will have a real-time view of the construction schedule and upcoming activities.
Through our web-based client portal you will have real time visibility of how actual costs are matching up against our operating budget... line item by line item. This allows us to forecast the overall over/under of your entire project.
Each day you will receive a email of our daily project logs, outlining what's happening onsite, issues we are dealing with, etc. Included are a handful of photos of that day's work. All are stored in your web-based client portal for access any time.

I was raised here in Bend, and have 29 years experience professionally managing and executing custom homes, spec homes, and high-end remodel projects. I take a cost-conscious attitude and pair it with a business-minded approach to residential construction. I believe that constant client communication and well-scheduled planning makes a project successful. I also believe that exceptional results can be obtained with creativity and ‘smart’ choices, rather than spending a ton of money. I have built over 90 new homes in the Bend, Seattle, and Portland areas as a small-to-mid-size developer/builder. I’ve served in roles varying from site superintendent to project manager, estimator/purchaser, and design & spec selection. I’ve personally built/remodeled 6 of my own homes, so I know what it’s like to write checks each month as a client building a home.I grew up here in the Bend area, and have a wonderful wife and 2 children. I've been with Stillwater since I was in college. I grew up in the Portland area, and spent my winters in Bend ski racing for OSU Cascades. I have a degree in Business from Oregon State University.
I am fanatical about jobsite organization and cleanliness, and I'm constantly communicating with and scheduling our subcontractors. I personally walk through every home at least twice a day, and complete daily logs with photos each day. I'm proactive, well-organized, and building custom homes is incredibly fun and rewarding for me.
